CHAPTER 1: THE LAST DAY OF PRIMARY SCHOOL

It was February 17th, 2023, a day that would mark the end of an era for Thoshinie and her friends. That morning, the school had organized a small breakfast at an Indian restaurant, a special treat to celebrate the final day of primary school. Thoshinie, excited but a little nervous, made her way there with her best friend, Keerti, by her side. They were ready to enjoy their favorite breakfast—nasi lemak, a dish they both adored.

As they sat down to eat, the familiar chatter of friends and laughter filled the air. The day was off to a great start. It wasn’t just any ordinary breakfast—it was a chance to make memories. Thoshinie and Keerti, always inseparable, were soon joined by the rest of their close-knit group: the 4 Amigos.

First, there was Avinesh, Thoshinie’s boy best friend, who was always up to mischief and loved to tease her. Then came Kishen, another of Thoshinie’s boy best friends, and Avinesh’s partner in crime. And of course, Keerti—Thoshinie’s primary school bestie who had been by her side through thick and thin. Together, they formed an unbreakable bond, one that would carry them through the day’s events and beyond.

After finishing their breakfast, the group snapped a few pictures to capture the moments that would soon become memories. With smiles wide and hearts full, they boarded the bus back to school, feeling the weight of the day settle in. It was all happening so fast. Their last day as primary school students was about to unfold.

Back at school, the emotional rollercoaster began. Thoshinie posed for pictures with her friends, schoolmates, juniors, and even teachers. Every click of the camera captured a feeling of nostalgia, a sense of loss, but also an excitement for the new journey ahead. Her heart swelled with emotion as she looked at the familiar faces around her, knowing that this chapter was closing.

The students scattered around the school, eager to collect signatures from friends and teachers. Thoshinie, along with her friends, ran from one person to the next, writing messages on each other’s uniforms as reminders of their time together.

But there was one more surprise that Thoshinie had planned for her closest friends and favorite teacher. With a smile, she handed out custom keychains with their names on them, a small but meaningful gift to show how much they meant to her. The room was filled with emotion as her friends and teacher tried to hold back tears.

And then, the final bell rang. The sound echoed through the school, signaling the end of primary school for Thoshinie and her friends. As they left the school gates, their eyes filled with tears. They knew they would never be the same, but their memories—of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable moments—would remain forever.

That was the last time Thoshinie walked out of those gates as a primary school student. It was a day of mixed emotions, but one she would never forget.
