Chapter 3: The First Step into a New Chapter

March 20, 2023, marked the beginning of Thoshinie's secondary school journey at SMK Bukit Mewah. This school, known for its excellence, had a unique schedule for Form 1 and Form 2 students: the first three classes attended in the morning, while the rest followed an afternoon session. Since Thoshinie scored well in her UASA exam, she secured a spot in 1 Cempaka, the second class in the school. It was a proud moment!

Excited for her first day, Thoshinie arrived at school bright and early—only to find the entire campus unexpectedly empty. Unbeknownst to her, students had been informed that the first two days would be in the afternoon.

A friendly prefect noticed her confusion and kindly stayed with her. Using a teacher's phone, Thoshinie contacted her father, who quickly came to pick her up. Though the initial shock made her anxious, the care and support she received turned the situation into a moment of reassurance.

Later that day, Thoshinie returned to school for the correct session, feeling a mixture of nerves and excitement. As she stepped through the gates again, she spotted a few familiar faces from primary school. Though her closest friends weren’t there, seeing these old classmates brought a sense of comfort.

That afternoon, Thoshinie met two girls who would soon become close friends:

• Vini: Stylish and spirited, Vini had a sensitive and possessive nature but was always reliable in times of need.
• Adrina: Though they had known each other in primary school, they weren’t close. Now, Adrina’s maturity and trustworthy personality quickly won Thoshinie’s friendship.

As the year progressed, Vini and Adrina’s personalities complemented each other, and together, the three girls formed a strong bond.

The day continued with orientation activities. Prefects guided the students around the school, introducing them to classrooms, the library, and other key areas. Walking through the spacious campus with new friends made the experience even more exciting. It was a day of discovery, laughter, and building connections.

By the end of the day, Thoshinie's initial nervousness was replaced by excitement. The first day at SMK Bukit Mewah was behind her, but it was only the start of her journey. With new friendships and countless adventures awaiting, the year ahead promised to be unforgettable.
